The Jack Kerouac Project
From the 29th of May to the 30th of June, Colette is hosting the exhibition "Until the End," where this year's theme is 'voyages around the world.' Several artists' photography documenting their travels will be shown along with "The Jack Kerouac Project," a clothing collection by Hogan. This clothing line reflects influences from the Beat Generation, indispensable to travelers that seek a free "on the road" spirit. A selection of new Beat books will be made available, such as "Beat" by Christopher Felver, which is a series of photos documenting personalities of the Beat Generation, and "Beat Bible" a 'photology,' retracing the complete history of the Beatniks.
On a side note, for the true Beatniks who'd like a good read, check out the exquisite City Lights Bookstore, co-founded in 1953 by Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti in Northbeach, San Francisco-- you can also read about it's history here.
Colette is a concept store in the heart of Paris, always presenting the latest and hippest novelties for lovers of design, fashion, art, music, and the hi-tech.
