Summer Exhibitions at the Musée d'Orsay

The well known Musée d'Orsay, located on the left bank of the Seine, is a definite main attraction here in Paris, and also a great alternative to spending 3 days in the now crowded Louvre.

A former railway station, the Musée d'Orsay carries a wide selection of French art dating from 1848 to 1914, including famous artists such as Courbet, Manet, Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, and Gauguin among many others. Many important pieces of the collection have been held at the Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume before the Museum's opening in 1986.

This summer the Museum has organized two exhibitions "De Cezanne à Picasso. Chefs-d'oeuvre de la galerie Vollard" (From Cezanne to Picasso: Masterpieces from the Vollard Gallery) as well as "La main," a look on different depictions of hands in photography.

Tours of these expos are also available; to attend, you can reserve tickets online.
Museum entry fee: 7,50 euros, exhibition entry fee: 9 euros
Reduced fare information here.
