Curating Contest in Saint Germain

Lalouisianeimage L’hôtel La Louisiane has hosted many artists, among them, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Beauvoir, Sartre, and this year, on the 3rd floor of the hotel, it will be accomodating a new approach on contemporary art.

The "Curating Contest" imagined by Olivier Robert, reunites critics, journalists, and other leaders in contemporary art, offering an opportunity for them to curate their own exhibition.

Artists and curators were given one month to imagine, mount and install an exhibition of their choice.
14 independant commissioners were each assigned one room chosen at random, and 10 days to make a showpiece of their space.
List of participants here.

Hôtel La Louisiane, 60 rue de Seine
75006 Paris.
Open December 19th and 20th, from 3pm to 8pm

Dawne

Hello. This seems like a good place to post my question. In 1998 my husband and I visited an exhibition hosted by, and located in, the Hermès store on Rue St. Honoré. It was several rooms decorated by various artists, I believe, around the theme of the Ginko Tree. It was the most wonderful installation I have ever seen, and I have searched in vain for years for any information on it. It was so very French! Who organized it? Does anyone remember anything about it? I share my memory of this show with all my art students, and would love to show them pictures of it.
Thank you.
